Comment on WSJ: America’s Growing Generational Divide

Rev. Steve Schlissel - November 5, 2018

WSJ runs a two-page story (11/4/18, pages C1 and C2) about America’s growing generational divide. It focuses on this: In 2019, for the first time, “Americans under 18 will be outnumbered by those over 60,” and by 2035 the young’uns will be outnumbered by those over 65. Isn’t it odd that America’s leading paper could run such a story–on two tabloid pages– without breathing a word about the 60,000,000 babies aborted here since 1973? But I guess they reasoned, “What has that got to do with it?” For that matter, they don’t make ANY attempt to account for this unprecedented demographic occurrence.

So, does this introduce another branch of fake news or is it simply more byproduct of agenda-driven, truncated, special-pleading news?
